When it was released, many fans saw the tech demo as a hope for a total remake of Final Fantasy VII. The scene from the tech demo was later used for the epilogue of Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- with a different scene with Cloud. Ĭloud's eyes are notably green in the technical demo instead of their usual color of blue. The finished tech demo presented an extraordinarily high standard of craftsmanship–impossibly high it would turn out–to which the team felt compelled to target their new project.

It took the team about six months to create the demo, during which time development for Final Fantasy XIII was halted.
PS3 DEMO GAMES FULL
Final Fantasy XIII was initially planned for the PlayStation 2, but the team working on it was derailed to make the Final Fantasy VII technical demo the results for the demo were so good that the development of Final Fantasy XIII was moved to the PlayStation 3 platform once its full development resumed. The technical demo was made by the team that went on to develop Final Fantasy XIII, with Motomu Toriyama as the director.

It was later included on Compilation of Final Fantasy VII: Reflections, a Japanese pre-order bonus DVD for Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-, which included the 2005 trade show trailers for all entries of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.
